Steel I Beam Applications:
Support beams for construction, machinery, shipbuilding, bridge, boiler, pressure vessel, facilities and engineering
Support steel channels, steel angles
Workplace platforms
Factory shops, warehouses
Truck bed framing
A load is applied at the center of a beam using weights, and the resulting midspan deflection is measured. The elastic stiffness of the beam is determined and compared to published values for various beam materials and cross sectional shapes.
Structural I beams are widely used in construction, bridges, and industrial structures as flexural members. The I-shaped cross-section provides excellent bending resistance with efficient material usage. Hot rolled I beams offer superior load-bearing capacity, cost-effectiveness, and ease of installation. They are ideal for spans from 3m to 30m and can be used as beams, columns, and girder supports in steel frame structures.
We supply I beams meeting major international standards: ASTM A992/A572 (US), JIS G3192 (Japan), EN 10034 (Europe), GB/T 707 (China). Available grades: Carbon structural: Q235B, Q275B; Low alloy: Q345B, Q355B; High strength: A572 Gr50/Gr65; Weather resistant: Q355NH. Custom grades available with minimum order quantity.
Our quality control process includes: (1) Raw material inspection before rolling, (2) In-process monitoring of temperature and dimensions, (3) Dimensional inspection of every beam (depth, flange width, web thickness), (4) Surface quality inspection, (5) Mechanical testing (tensile, yield, impact), (6) Chemical composition verification. All beams come with Mill Test Certificates (MTC) per EN 10204 3.1.
Packaging: Multi-piece bundles secured with steel straps, wooden dunnage for surface protection, waterproof covers for overseas shipments. Loading: 20ft container: 18-22 tons; 40ft container: 25-28 tons. Shipping terms: FOB Tianjin/Qingdao, CIF, CFR, DAP available. For project orders, we offer sequence loading for easier on-site installation.
Standard lead times: Stock items: 3-7 days; Regular orders: 15-25 days; Custom specifications: 25-45 days. We maintain strategic raw material inventory to mitigate supply chain risks. For urgent orders, our express channel offers priority scheduling. Real-time order tracking available through our sales team.
Yes, we offer: Custom lengths from 1m to 18m, fixed random lengths or specific lengths. We provide Mill Test Certificates (MTC) per EN 10204 3.1/3.2. Third-party inspection by SGS, BV, or ABS can be arranged upon request. Our facility is certified to ISO 9001:2015.
The dimensions do not exceed the acceptable tolerance of±6 mm in either of the primary axes
