1. What is the difference between tubing and casing?

Casing is larger diameter pipe (4.5-20 inch) used to line the wellbore and withstand external pressures.

Tubing is smaller diameter pipe (1.9-4.5 inch) installed inside casing to conduct fluids from the reservoir to the surface.

Tubing must handle internal pressure, corrosion, and mechanical stresses from production operations.

2. What are the main types of tubing connections?

Two main types:

(1) API connections - EU (External Upset) and NU (Non-Upset) are standard API connections. EU has thicker walls at the box for added strength; NU has equal wall thickness throughout.

(2) Premium connections - specialized connections for high-pressure, high-temperature, or corrosive service.

Selection depends on well conditions and operational requirements.

3. How do you ensure tubing quality for corrosive environments?

For corrosive environments (H2S, CO2), we offer:

(1) L80-1/9Cr or L80-13Cr - chromium-enhanced grades for H2S resistance

(2) T95, C110 - sour service grades with specific chemistry controls

(3) Tubing with internal coating (epoxy, zinc) for additional protection

All tubing undergoes proper heat treatment to achieve required mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.

4. What is the difference between API and premium tubing connections?

API connections (EU, NU) are cost-effective and suitable for standard wells.

Premium connections (e.g., BTC, proprietary) offer:

(1) Metal-to-metal sealing for better leak resistance

(2) Higher torque capacity

(3) Better fatigue resistance for cyclic operations

Every tubing includes:

6. Can you provide tubing in specific thread configurations?

Yes, we provide tubing in various thread configurations:

(1) Non-upset (NU) - plain end tubing requiring threading in the field

(2) External upset (EU) - box on one end, pin on the other, ready for running

(3) Integral connections - premium threads with the connection forged as part of the tube
