Hot rolled structural pipe is made from hot-rolled coil with no additional forming, providing good strength at lower cost. Cold formed structural pipe is roll-formed at room temperature, offering tighter dimensional tolerances and smoother surface finish. Cold formed is preferred for precision applications and architectural structures.
Common standards: ASTM A500 (US cold formed), ASTM A53 (US standard grade), EN 10219 (European cold formed), JIS G3466 (Japanese). Each standard specifies different strength classes and testing requirements. We help select the right standard based on your project requirements.
Three main shapes: (1) Round pipe - most common for general structural applications; (2) Square tube - equal sides, excellent for compression members; (3) Rectangular tube - higher moment of inertia, ideal for beams. Custom shapes available upon request.
Available treatments: (1) Black (as rolled) - standard for painting or coating; (2) Galvanized - zinc coated for corrosion resistance; (3) Primer coated - ready for final painting; (4) Pre-galvanized - good for indoor applications. Selection depends on service environment and aesthetic requirements.
Every pipe undergoes: (1) Dimensional inspection (OD, wall, section); (2) Visual inspection for defects; (3) Chemical composition verification; (4) Mechanical testing (tensile, yield). Full MTC provided. We also offer special testing for critical applications.
Yes, we offer: (1) Custom lengths from 1m to 18m; (2) Fixed random lengths or specific lengths; (3) Bundle packaging for easy handling; (4) Individual packaging for precision requirements. Contact us with your specific requirements.
