Super Duplex Pipe Test
Chemical Component Analysis, Mechanical Properties (Ultimate tensile strength, Yield strength, Elongation),
Technical Properties (Flattening Test, Bending Test, Blow Test, Impact Test), Exterior Size Inspection, Hydrostatic Test, X-ray Test.Super duplex grades (UNS S32760, S32750) contain higher chromium (25%) and molybdenum (3-4%) than standard duplex (22% Cr, 2-3% Mo), providing superior chloride pitting and stress corrosion resistance. Super duplex is recommended for more aggressive environments like seawater applications.
Yes, super duplex can be welded using GTAW (GTAW), SMAW, and FCAW methods. However, matching filler metals (e.g., AWS E2594) with higher nickel content are required to maintain ferrite-austenite balance and prevent precipitation of harmful phases. Post-weld heat treatment is generally not required.
Super duplex is suitable for service temperatures from -50°C to 300°C. Above 300°C, long-term exposure may cause sigma phase embrittlement. For cryogenic applications below -50°C, consult manufacturer for specific grade recommendations.
Super duplex has PREN of 40+ (typically 40-45), compared to 316L's PREN of ~25. This makes super duplex approximately 60% more resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments. It outperforms 316L in seawater and acidic chloride solutions.
Our super duplex pipes come with Mill Test Certificates EN 10204 3.1/3.2, certified to ASTM A790/A789. We provide third-party inspection by SGS, BV, or Lloyd's. Full traceability from heat number to final inspection is guaranteed for all orders.
Super duplex pipes are ideal for seawater cooling systems, offshore platforms, desalination plants, chemical processing, oil & gas production, and pressure vessels. Their superior strength (twice that of 304L/316L) also allows for thinner wall construction and weight savings.
